Wonderful wonderful Copenhagen

Join us in Copenhagen! screams Wonderful Copenhagen (Twitter | Instagram). Or, when they remember, #JoinUs. According to Monocle (who they?) Copenhagen is the world’s best city where everyone is welcome – and in 2014 they are #sharingcph with the rest of the world as Eurovision European Green Capital 2014! (Fun facts: it was Stockholm in 2010 and in 2015 it’s Bristol.) What’s planned?

The Eurovision Fan Mile, opening 4 May, from the town hall square to Nyhavn, where you hop on your boat, bus or bike to Eurovision Island:

Eurovision Village at Gammeltorv/Nytorv, where big screens will show the semis and the final (further screen at Rådhuspladsen for the final):

  • street food involved in a new organic truck concept – don’t mention intensive pig farming, and I have asked re vegetarian/vegan options
  • green room – with Danish shades of green and surely city bikes, somewhere
  • kid’s zone – now being released rather than rollicking, thankfully

#joiningus are several partner cities offering:

  • a picnic for two – a little bit of Swedish nature in a glass container and light installation from Malmö (for the Swedish volunteers) on Kongens Nytorv
  • karaoke from Hamburg (Eurovision city) and performing arts from Beijing (Emmelie is popular in China) on Højbro Plads/International Square
  • plus Aalborg, Aarhus og Odense (to make up for not hosting in Udkantsdanmark) hidden away somewhere

Tours, in particular involving #eurovisionbikes, also likely to feature. Party for everybody…guides for:

Help! It’s all so expensive!

We wish WoCo would come up with an #escdk version of the Copenhagen Card, which offers free travel on public transport, free admission to nearly 75 sights and discounts in restaurants and clubs:
